Company I
Stephen Henry WOOLWORTH
- Sergeant
In a book titled:
'History of the Township and Vilage of Mazomanie',
written by William Kittle and published by the State Journal Printing Company, Madison, Wisconsin; Stephen Henry Woolworth is shown as having enlisted during the Civil War on or near the 15th of April,1861 and placed into the 40th regiment in Company 'K'.

A publication (book) labled 'Wisconsin Volunteers' 'War of the Rebellion' 1861--1865, arranged alphabetically, identifies Stephen H. Woolworth as a sargent in company 'I', 51st Infantry. Shown on page 1122, published by the state, at Madison, Wisconsin, Democratic Printing Company, 1914.
This may be in error however as it does not agree with the data on his tomb-stone at his grave in LeMars, Iowa.
