Henry Pond Rank Unknown |
Henry Pond is buried at the Baxter Springs, Kansas cemetary civil war section. And I am a decendant of him & I also know that he had 2 brothers that are buried at the Fort Scott,Kansas cemetary. Henry & the 2 brothers that are distant uncles on my Dads' side of the family but I don't know exactly how where the relation comes in at. I was told that Henry was burned under a wagon load of hay by Quntril at the battle of Baxter Springs' Fort Blair during the civil war. I would like to find out more about those uncles and if there were more of the family involved in that war than what I've heard about. Plus if a historian would like to talk to my Dad a little on the subject I am sure that he may know a little about it and would like to learn more as well. I have always been interested in civil war artifacts especially since some of my relatives were part of the war. If some one would like to know where the civil war section is at Baxter Springs cemetry they can contact the historical museum in Baxter Springs. My e-mail address is 'spikeharrington@yahoo.com'.
