Company F
Elijah Simeon Hall - Private
This man enlisted under the name 'Simeon Hall,' but is none other than the same Elijah Simeon Hall that previously served in the 77th Ohio Infantry, Co. H. His name was frequently misspelled as 'Seaman Hall' and even misread as 'Leaman Hall,' but we have proven that all these entries are the same man. He joined in June 1863 with Nicholas Bird Langley, his soon-to-be brother-in-law, as a bunkmate. He fought through the war until the destruction of Lee's army in April 1865; was stabbed through the body with a bayonet and survived (evidence implicates the battle of Sayler's Creek for this event). Wounded previously in the Lynchburg Campaign and battle of Winchester, Sep. 1864. May his memory be treasured by his children as long as there is an America for them to live in.
