Rueben Coffman - Private
Rueben born 1840 in Page Co. VA, enlisted in June 1861 with his brother Cumberland Coffman (other brothers James & Isaac joined the Union Army). Difficult to tell which battles he fought in as records show many AOL's (typical of Co. H as they were always close to home- Shenandoah). Records indicate he was at Gettysburg. He ended the war by deserting and joining the Union Army. Died in 1917. He was my great-grandfather.

William Knight Devier - Private
William, whose surname has variant spellings (Dever, Devers, Deviers), was the son of Allen Devier and Nancy Turley, and brother of the 'DeVier' men registered at this site who served in the 7th VA Cavalry. He was the first husband of my great-great grandmother, Maria Louisa CATLETT. William died either in 1862 (per death record purportedly registered in Rockingham Co., VA) or possibly in 1863, as his military record indicates he was still alive in that year. Left two children and a widow. Maria married 2nd, William Jackson BLACKWOOD (Pvt, Co. G, 12th PA Cav).
