Rueben Coffman

Rueben born 1840 in Page Co. VA, enlisted in June 1861 with his brother Cumberland Coffman (other brothers James & Isaac joined the Union Army). Difficult to tell which battles he fought in as records show many AOL's (typical of Co. H as they were always close to home- Shenandoah). Records indicate he was at Gettysburg. He ended the war by deserting and joining the Union Army. Died in 1917. He was my great-grandfather.
