Seth Maxwell Barton - General
Brigadier General took command of the Armistead Brigade after General Armistead was killed at Gettysburg. Later he commanded 1st Brigade in the 2nd Corp (Stonewall's Brigade), until his capture at Sayler's Creek. He is buried in the Confederate Memorial Cemetary in Fredricksburg VA.

Wounded at Pickett's Charge. Kept his right hand attached in spite of the injury. Captured and sent to Ft. Delaware POW camp. After the war, was a carpenter and ran an orphanage. Helped to build 1st Presbyterian Church in Portsmouth, VA. Buried in Portsmouth.
