Died October 9, 1864, at Rock Island Prison, Illinois. Buried in Confederate Cemetery at Rock Island in Grave 1551.

George Watson Buck - Private   
Son of George Washington Buck and Sarah (Sallie) Estes. Born in Louisa County, Virginia, in 1831.

His brothers Benjamin F. Buck and James Mason Buck were also in Company A. Benjamin died at Rock Island Prison, Illinois, in 1864. James died in Rockwall County, Texas, in 1919.

George Watson Buck became a prominent citizen and brick manufacturer in Clarksville, Montgomery County, Tennessee. He died in 1912.

My Great Great Uncle, was captured at Ft. Donelson exchanged at Vicksburg. He was captured at Franklin. Letter from Capt J.A.M. Nesbitt of Co.D says Sam was pulled over the breastworks and sent off to a prison up north. His two other brothers also served in the same company. One died at Port Hudson La.

My Great, Great Uncle served in Co D along with his two other brothers. He was captured Ft. Donelson, exchanged Vicksburg. In hospital for abcess on leg.(Ross Hospital Mobile Ala) Note says Atlanta Ga. In March 1865 he appears to still be with company but employed by Forrest Hospital Lauderdale, Miss. He is listed as having surrenderd with the Surgeon May 4th 1865.

John H. Sugg was captured at the battle in Franklin Tennessee, Nov. 30th 1864. He was intered at Camp Douglas, Illinois, Dec. 5, 1864 and released after taking the oath of allegiance May 13th 1865.

Great Grand Joseph and one brother survived and came home, I think he had three other brothers that were killed... Joseph's grave is in the Dotsonville community I think.

William Bayliss - Private   
William Bayliss was born William Haire Bayless to Daniel Price Bayless and Lydia Jaine Haire in Tennessee. He was wounded at the Battle of Fort Donelson and was one of the men taken to Camp Douglas in Chicago after the fort's surrender. He was one of those released into Vicksburg but died later of an infection. Not sure how soon he died afterwards or what type of infetion he had, but his death was in 1862. Not aware where his remains lie either.
