Jacob Cramer - Private |
|
A German immigrant from Connecticut, Jacob originally served in the 27th Conn Vol. at Gettysburg where he met his future wife during the campaign. Mustered out of the 27th, he returned to Pennsylvania to be with his wife-to-be and then joined the 202nd. He returned to Connecticut after the war with his now wife and died in 1876 as the result of a wagon accident. He is buried in the Indian Hill Cemetery, GAR Section, in his home town of Middletown, CT.
