Henry Bennett Adams - Private |
Hanry is my great-great-grandfather. He was mortally wounded at Antietam and died on Sept 22, 1862. I would like any information about his gravesite as well as any data on family heritage.

Oscar C Griswold - Private |
Oscar Griswold's home was LeRoy, Pennsylvania near Canton. The 132nd was a nine-month regiment, activated in August, 1862, and mustered out in May, 1863. Brief as its tour of duty was, the unit was a very active combat participant in the battles of Antietam, Fredericksburg and Chancellorsville. Regimental adjutant, Frederick Hitchcock, wrote the regiment's story years later in a book entitled 'War from the Inside'. Another source for information on this and all other Pennsylvania regiments which served in the Civil War is 'History of the Pennsylvania Volunteers, 1861-65' by Samuel P. Bates.

I am trying to research more about this unit. I'd love to hear of any personal letters from soldiers, etc., regarding their exploits. I have just returned from a visit to Antietam, and saw the ground where their first real action took place. Unbelievable.
