Henry Oaks - 1st Sergeant

Henry Oaks was my 2nd great grandfather. He was born in 1822 in Dover, York County, PA. He enlisted as a 3rd Sgt. in Co. B, 130th PA, on Aug 11, 1862, at age 40 with a wife & six children at home. He mustered out with his unit on May 21, 1863 at Harrisburg, PA. He died of typhoid fever in East Prospect, York, PA in 1898.

Henry Forney was my 2nd grand uncle. He enlisted as a private in Co. D, 130th PA at age 17 on Aug. 4, 1862 in Cumberland County, PA. He mustered out with his unit on May 22, 1865. His father was a member of the 13th PA. Cav. & died as a prisoner of war at Andersonville, GA in 1864.

4th cousin of mine. Served 10 Aug 1862 to 21 May 1863. Wounded in the arm at Chancellorsville. At Antietam/Sharpsburg, two of his cousins, Solomon A. Hartline and William L.D. Hartline, were on the other side fighting for the Confederacy.
