Samuel Blauch, my ggg-grandfather was mustered into Co.G 115th PA regiment on 7/7/1862. 115th was decimated and combined with the 110th PA. Samuel was taken prisoner at the battle of Chancellorsville in May of 1863 and was held for 12 days at Belle Island. He was exchanged and returned to his unit. Was wounded slightly at the Wilderness, May 1864, but stayed with his unit. Was wounded severely in a skirmish at Hatchers Run on 10/27/1864 and was hospitalized. Returned to his unit after a 20 day furlough and back into service. Mustered out 6/11/1865

He died at the Central Branch, Dayton, Ohio on January 14,1919.

Samuel M. Myers - Private
|
Samuel Myers enlisted to serve the Union on August 29, 1862. His term of enlistment was put down as ''War''. His age was 23 years. His unit, Company H of the 110th Regiment, PA Infantry, was formed in Pennsylvania. He joined the Company at its original organization and participated in: the Battle of Fredericksburg on December 13, 1862: Battle of Chancellorship, VA, May 2&3, 1863; and was was wounded on the second day of the battle of Gettysburg. His unit was advanced to the Peach Orchard and took heavy losses. Samuel was moved to Mower General Hospital in Philadelphia where he died of exhaustion according to the death certificate on November 9, 1864. He was 25 years old at the time. He was buried at Odd Fellow Cemetery in Philadelphia, PA on November 17, 1864.
At the time of his enlistment, he had blue eyes, light brown hair, fair complexion and was 5''8'' tall.
