Enlisted Oct, 1861, age 50, single father of 10 children. Left his daughter Lucinda in charge of the kids and enlisted. Enlistment papers say he was 43 so he wasn't exactly telling them the truth.
Died May 9, 1865 in Hospital at Fortress Monroe after long illness. Buried in Hampton, VA.

In 1861 Asa Howe Cory raised Company H of the 58th PA Volunteer infantry company and became its captain. Served with the union until 1862 when he was forced to quit due to severe frostbite.
