GGGrandfather. Born 1836. Married Francis Elizabeth Boyd 1859. Served in regiment from its formation 2 May til its disbandment 1 September 1864. Raised eight children in Licking County. Died 1914, buried in South Lawn Cemetery, Utica, Ohio. Younger brother Aaron Loyd served in 53rd Illinois Infantry.

The regiment served 100 days from May 11 1864 until Sept 1, 1864. It served in Maryland and engaged in some combat. Josiah Barnett was born in Jan 1827 in Ohio and died in March 1906 in Gassville(Baxter County), Arkansas. He outlived 2 wives(Mary Ray from Ohio and Esther Tennessee Raines from Tennessee) and had 4 children by Mary and 6 by Esther. I have family information on him that I would share with interested parties.
