Henry Massamore - Unknown
|
Henry Misamore joined and became a Private in the Fifty - Seventh Ohio Infantry in 1861 and was in service until after the siege of Vicksburg, where he was struck by a minie ball in the left knee. That wound disabled him for further effective service and he came home. He kept the minie ball as a souvenier. He was discharged on July 8, 1864 from the hospital at Camp Denison, Ohio, on the surgeon's certificate of disability. Note* They gave him the wrong spelling of his name. His last name was Misamore...not Massamore.
