Daniel Cooper, third great uncle, was one of the Preble County men who served in the Thirty-Fifth. Was wounded on September 20th, 1863 at Chickamauga, but not certain if was in Kelly Field or Snodgrass Hill/Horseshoe Ridge. Looking for a picture of him. Buried in Mound Cemetery, Eaton, Ohio.

|
Severely wounded at Chickamauga, after taking over company upon death of Capt. Dierdorf and many others early on first day. Believe he was captured after being wounded at Snodgrass Hill on second day. Was paroled after about 10 days. Survived and returned and served until Kennesaw Mtn., escorted body of Peter Allison back to Middleton Ohio.
