This is the Grandfather of Wilma Maughn. Casper was married twice. His Civil War pension went to his second wife Wilhimina Friedli (Friedly) who lived in Kansas. He served in the 33 Ohio Infantry

Four Jett Brothers served in the OVI ; Solomon and Joseph leaving Sept. 5 1861 to join the 33rd OVI and William enlisted on Aug 7 1862 in the 89th OVI and his older brother John followed a week later on Aug. 15, 1862. Thank You Robert W. Jett

Captured and confined at Andersonville, GA.
Died of diarrhea as a POW on 5 June 1864 at Andersonville, GA.
Buried at Andersonville National Historical Site.

We have a framed discharge certificate for Jacob Hall, however, it says he was under Captain Booth, D Company, 33rd Regiment Battalion, Ohio National Guard. Is this the same thing?

Berry was my GGG Grandfather. He was killed during the Siege of Atlanta, 1864.

John Jacob was captured at Bentonville March 19, 1865. We cannot figure out where he was held until he was released March 28, 1865.

Harrison Houseman, my Great Great Grandfather, was born in Highland Co., Ohio in 1844. Later moving to Ross Co., Ohio. He enlisted at age 20 as a private in Company G, 33rd OVI on February 25th, 1864 at Chillicothe, Ohio. Located at Columbus, Ohio on March 6, 1864, he joined the Regiment on April 7, 1864 (location not noted on Muster Roll card). Harrison mustered out on July 12, 1865 at Louisville, Kentucky. He later married, and moved to Missouri, where he died in 1874 at age 30.

Lewis is the brother to my great great great grandfather Georg O'Brien. They are from Ross County, Ohio area. His brother-in-law John A. Reaster was in the same unit later switching to another unit. They were in Civil War, Ohio Volunteer Infantry 33rd Regiment Company G. Was a private. Extraction, Record and Box #3347. Pension Application No. 191255, certificate # 135350 date: April 9, 1874

John A. Reaster is the brother-in-law to my great great great uncle Lewis S. O'Brien who served in the same unit. John was with Civil War: Bourneville Co G 33 OVI enrolled August 29, 1861 was discharged September 19, 1862 at Nashville on Surgeons Certificate of Disability and then he enrolled June 19, 1863 in Bourneville Co A OH Heavy Artillery.

Discharged for wounds on 12 July 1865 at Louisville, KY.

Recipient of the Medal of Honor.
