My great-grandfather Joseph Dixon Baker at age 14 lied about his age claiming he was 17 and he joined as a drummer. enlisted at Downington, Ohio on August 24, 1861 in Company C 30th Regiment Ohio Infantry and was mustered in on August 29 at Camp Chase. He was wounded in the left knee on September 17, 1862 while carrying dispatches at the battle of Antiedem, Maryland. He was discharged on August 13, 1865 at Little Rock, Arkansas.He died in 1923 and was buried in the Low Gap Cemetery behind Low Gap Church, Braymer, Caldwell, Missouri 64624.
