From West Rushville, Ohio. Killed in the Battle of Chicamauga. 20 years old at time of death, single, no children. His mother received his $4/month pension for the rest of her life. Believe he is buried in an unmarked grave in Chatanooga.

Jonathon Reedy is the son of Silas Reedy also listed as being a private in the 17th Ohio Vol. Infantry. Both father and son survived their engagements. Silas came from Rockingham Co., Virginia to settle in Hocking Co., Ohio then to Fairfield Co., Ohio and finally resting in Allen Co., Ohio near the town of Elida. Silas and Jonathon were butchers by trade.

Silas Reedy came from Rockingham County Virginia. He is the father of Jonathon Reedy also listed as being in the 17th Ohio Vol. Infantry.

Capt. Ezra Ricketts b. 1824-25 was the son of Jeremiah Ricketts and Mary Lane. Killed in action Sept.20 1863 at Chickamauga. The local G.A.R. post in Lancaster,Fairfield Co., Ohio was named after him. He is my wifes first cousin 5x's removed.

Enlisted 22 Apr 1861. Mustered out with company on 15 Aug 1861.

I own his rifle model 1854 Austrian Lorenz Musket.Became sick at battle of Cornith Miss.drank the water and had dysentery rest of life. laid in hospital while unit was hit heavy at chickamauga hooked up them 3 months later. was in rear guard last battle before south surrended in N.C.

Enlisted as a Private on 4 February 1864 at the age of 18.
Mustered out on 16 July 1865.

Robert W. Naylor was my great-great grandfather.

I am fairly sure that he was in Company H, because his son, my great grandfather, James Ball Naylor, was born in Morgan County in 1860.

He died on December 6, 1863, and is buried at the Chattanooga National Cemetery. The site of his final battle, Missionary Ridge, is only a few miles from his gravesite.

He was my great grandfather. He is buried in the McConnelsville, OH cemetery
