---------Obituary in Monroe, NE 'Looking-Glass' May 16, 1901:
B. F. Moore, father of Mrs. J. J. Williams, of this place. Mr. Moore died Tuesday morning in Omaha, where he was visiting his sons. Mr. Moore visited his daughter here about three weeks ago. The funeral will be at Genoa today conducted by the G. A. R. Mr. Moore had been in poor health for a couple of years. Mrs. Williams went to Omaha on Tuesday to accompany the remains to Genoa, it being the last request of her father that he be burried [sic] there. Mr. Moore was about 65 years old, and served in the war of the Rebellion. There are two girls and four boys left of the family.

Pvt. Andrew Miesch served in the 4th Ohio Cavalry in the western campaigne's battles. starting early in the war he fought in most of the western battles starting in Missouri,going to the Battle of Selma, Alabama. Andrew may have been involved in capturing Jefferson Davis.

Joseph W. Stevenson entered the Service in Co. L. 4th. Ohio Volunteer Cavalry on September 3, 1862 at Cincinnati Ohio.
He served 3 years and was captured and held at the Andersonville Prison for seven (7) months.
Corporal Stevenson was honorably discharged at Cincinnati Ohio on June 15th. 1865
