Nathaniel died on December 15, 1863, at Hospital # 1 of disease, Murfreesboro, Tenn. He died during the Lookout Mtn. Campaign. His body was later transferred to the Thomas Farm Cemetery, Varysburg, N.Y. He was just 23 yrs. old.
