One of many Canadians who fought for the Union

Enlisted Aug.1861 from Ionia,Cty, Mich. Wounded at Malvern Hill,Va. on July 1,1862. Back in action with the 16th at Second Bull Run and all the following engagements of 1862/3. Was with the 16th in the defense of Little Round Top at Gettysburg on July 2,1863. Was sent to Park-Patterson Hospital in Baltimore after Gettysburg where he remained until his enlistment was up in 1864. He died in 1879 at 42 years old, never the same health wise from the war. He was my ggrandfather.

Lorenzo Davis is my great grandfather. He was from Auburn, MI. Served with Co D, 16th Michigan Regiment and was wounded twice.

Elliott is listed as having been in Co. B of the 11th MI and also Co. D of the 16th MI.

James A Morton, age 22, private recruit of Company E, 16th regiment. Enrolled on Nov. 13, 1861, discharged Nov 18, 1864, age 24 as a corporal.
