Charles Richmond was a Private in Company D, 8th Michigan Infantry. From Ada, Kent County, he enlisted at Grand Rapids on September 6, 1861 at age 42. He is buried in the Military Asylum Cemetery in Washington, D.C. He died September 25, 1862, at age 45 years, 6 months, and 15 days at Cliffborn Hospital in Washington D.C.
