Enlisted in February 1864. He was captured at Spotsylvania Courthouse on May 12, 1864 and confined at Andersonville Prison. He survived Andersonville and the war but thus far I have been unable to find out what happened to him after the war. His mother, Mary, applied for his pension in 1868 so I assume that he died but have not confirmed this yet

His parents were George and Patty (Smart) Mace of Raymond, New Hampshire. Still searching for his grandparents.
