Joined the 10th Massachusetts and later on was in the 57th Mass. Received a disabilty discharge on September 21st, 1863. Enlisted in company C, 57th Massachusetts on Feb 18th, 1864. He was wounded (slightly) on October 8th, 1864 at Popular Grove Church, Virginia. Mustered out July 30th, 1865.

Enlisted as a Corporal on June 14, 1861 using the name Nelson N. Griffin. He was arrested for desertion on February 24, 1862. Was demoted to Private on April 1, 1862. Was killed at Malvern Hill, Virgina on July 1, 1862. He listed his residence as Stephentown, New York, his occupation as farmer, and his age as 23 when he enlisted. There is no know grave.

Murray was from Ashfield, Massachusetts and was I believe either 19 or 20 at the time of his enlistment. He was wounded at the Battle of Malvern Hill in 1862 and later transferred to the 37th Massachusetts when the 10th was mustered out of service. Anybody with any information on Murray, Company H, or the 10th Massachusetts in general please drop me a line. Thanks.
