Amos was my great great grandfather (maternal). Wounded May 10, 1864 at Spotsylvania Court House. He survived his wounds and mustered out January 1865.

Joel Butler was born about 1821. Joel Butler married Kezia Bridges on March 1, 1851 in Meddybemps, Washington County, Maine. Joel and Kezia were living in Meddybemps, Maine when he enlisted.

He enlisted as a Private in Portland, Maine on 15 Jul 1861 at the age of 40. Joel was a member of Company F, 6th Maine Infantry Volunteers. He died of typhoid fever at Hammond Regimental Hospital, Point Lookout, Maryland on 30 Jul 1862 while still enlisted in Company F, 6th Maine Infantry Volunteers. His widow, Kezia Butler, filed for a widow's pension on 8 May 1863, certificate no. 13.415. On all the official documents in this Civil War pension file, her name is spelled 'Keziah' by other people, however on several documents that she wrote and signed she spelled her name as 'Kezia'.
I am searching for ANY info that can be found on the parents of both Joel Butler and his widow Kezia Bridges.

Mark Frost was a private who served as assistant to the cook in Company I of the 6th Maine Infantry Volunteers.

From Calais, Maine. Mustered in August, 1862, after the birth of his son, Wallace. Wounded in Battle of Rappahannock Station on November 7, 1863. At Armory Square Hospital, Washington, D.C., his leg was amputated. Infection set in and he died of bleeding. He left behind a wife and three children. His younger brother was killed at the Battle of Rappahannock.
