According to his pension application, Benjamin enlisted Sept 19, 1864 in Co C of the 26th KY Infantry. He enlisted in the place of a married man from Pineville, KY. He was a private in the Vet Vols. His original roll was in Louisville, KY. He also mentions being near Clifton, TN with his unit. He mustered out in Salisbury, NC June 30, 1865.

K, 26th Infantry Regiment, Ky. on Nov. 29, 1864 in Bowling Green, Ky.

I believe ' Camel ' was the maternal gr,grandfather of Mary Gibson Phillips, my wife's paternal grandmother. Camel Ward : Injured his back & shoulders on a raid to Saltville, Va. ( horse fell with him )
Residence was not listed; Enlisted on 9/1/1862 at Munfordsville, KY as a Private.
On 9/13/1862 he mustered into 'D' Co. KY 33rd Infantry He was transferred out on 4/1/1864
On 4/1/1864 he transferred into 'K' Co. KY 26th Infantry He was Mustered Out on 6/30/1865 at Salisbury, NC
