Robert J. Logue - Private   
Robert J. Logue served as a Private in the 38th Iowa Infantry (The counties represented were mainly from the northeastern part of the state: Fayette, Winneshiek, Bremer, Chickasaw and Howard.). Robert Logue enlisted on August 22nd, 1862 and was mustered in at Dubuque, Iowa, Oct. 1, 1862, by Captain George S. Pierce. He received a medical disability on January 6th, 1864, at Jefferson Co., Missouri. The Regiment was mustered out in December 1864. Robert contracted measles during the Vicksburg campaign from which he never recovered. When he left the Army he still had a cough which developed into consumption from which he died.

He served his entire term of service, and when needed, replaced Barsnett Everingham as the Company's 1st Sergeant along with Madison Taft.
