Benjamin was born in Morgan County, Ohio in 1832 and moved to Iowa in 1863, where he was quickly drafted. After the war he lived in DeWitt, Clinton Co., Iowa, Boone Co., Iowa and Sac Co. Iowa. He died 14 Feb 1913 and is buried in Odebolt, Iowa.

was enrolled Dec. 17, 1862 and discharged Feb. 14, 1863 by order of Adjt. Genl. of IA.
*In a letter on file in this office the soldier stated that his discharge was requested by his mother on the ground that he was a minor and that he was then sick.
Enlisted as Bugler 22, September 1863 at age 18.
Enlisted in Co. K 9th. Cavalry Regiment Iowa, on 30 October 1863
Mustered out 03, February 1866 in Little Rock AR.

William Robinson - Private   
William Robinson, was born on October 12, 1828 in Kentucky, and died on April 7, 1924 in Wahkon, Mille Lacs County, Minnesota. He is buried at Foster Cemetery, Onamia, Mille Lacs County, Minnesota. His service with CO H 14 IOWA INF is inscribed on his tombstone.

William Robinson, is known to have been residing in Jones County, Iowa when he enlisted for service in the Civil War. He enlisted on January 4, 1862, and served as a Private in Company H 14th Iowa Volunteers. He was in the Battles of Fort Henry, Fort Donelson, and the Battle of Shiloh. He then became ill and was discharged on July 20, 1862, in Corinth, Mississippi.
