Wounded in arm at Stones River. Veteran volunteer. Wounded(shot through hips) August 25, 1864 while on picket duty outside of Atlanta, GA. Full military pension. D. Sept, 1906. Buried with military marker, Simmons Cemetery, Hancock Co., IN.

William Hooton was injured in the hand at the Battle of Stone River in Tennessee and discharged June 29, 1863. He died September 6, 1863 from medical complications and is buried at the Raysville Christian Cemetery in Henry County, Indiana.

Henry County, Indiana; 36th Indiana Infantry, Co. C.; killed at the Battle of Chicamauga, Georgia, 31 Dec 1863 holding rank of Sergeant Major. Buried in South Mound Cemetery, Henry County, Indiana. Son of Simon Powell and Elizabeth Hoover.

Enlisted as a Private on 23 October 1861 at the age of 21. Died on 22 February 1862 at Murfreesboro, TN.

Joined Sept. 1861 when the regiment was created. Sent to Camp Murphey in Indianapolis. Served entire tour and returned to Greensboro, Indiana to continue farming. Participated in the Battle of Shiloh we know for certain. He passed away in 1912 and was laid to rest in the Greensboro Friends Cemetary next to his wife Elizabeth.

This is my great-great grandfather. He was 2nd Lieutenant of Commpany F. He got sick after the Battle of Shiloh and resigned his commission. A few months later he re-enlisted in the 69th Indiana.

Francis 'Pa' Seibert was my maternal gg grandfather. I have several original photographs of Francis including one taken in 1866 shortly after the Civil War. I also have Francis' complete pension file of over 100 pages. Francis preferred to use 'Frank' as his first name.
