Nelson Sippy - Private |
Nelson Sippy joined the 46th shortly after his older brother Lewis joined the 40th. He lied about his age as he was only 16. He fought in the battles for Island #10 and Fort Pillow. While his unit was occupying Memphis, TN., he contracted dysentary. He died of this 8/31/1862. I believe he had a cousin by the last name of Shaffer in this unit.
