I am researching my husband's ancestors. The story is that this man was a prisoner of Andersonville. His family had given him up for dead. He was released and made his way home in southern Decatur Co, Indiana. He looked like a skeleton and needed help to walk. When his wife saw him, she fainted.

Info I have: From Prisoners of Andersonville website: Grayson, John T, Union, 7th Indiana infantry

from Pension app. on footnote.com: Grayson, John (L) On the handwritten doc it looks like T. Indiana infantry Reg 7 CoD rank private 22Feb1869
