4th cousin of mine. Elisted for three years Aug 1862. Discharged from service seven months later, along with every Officer of the 109th, for 'utter incompetence' and 'evincing no disposition to improve themselves', by Adjutant General's Special Order No. 6 issued in Lake Providence, Louisiana, 10 April 1863. Regiment was said to be riddled with members of the Knights of the Golden Circle, a pro-Confederate secret society. Died 1915. Buried at Anna Cemetery in Anna, Illinois.
