John R. Edwards - Private
Lived in Baltimore, MD at start of war. Next records show enlistment in Co. A,12th Georgia Light Artillery on April 10, 1862. Unit was merged into 63rd Regiment as Co. A. Captured near Decatur, AL Oct. 30, 1864. As prisoner, transited TN and KY during which many in unit were executed in reprisals for confederate guerrilla actions; four for every Northerner killed in raids. They actually drew straws to see who would die each day. Likely under orders from 'Butcher' Burbridge. His brief memoir on this is harrowing. Was a prisoner in IL until war's end. Then back to Baltimore.

J. H. Cossar - Unknown
Have no information on this distant relative. The surname Cossar is most likely one of perhaps a hundred variants of the original surname Cossart; nevertheless, there remains the possibility that 'Cossar' is a misspelling of a completely unrelated name. Would appreciate learning any information others may have on this individual.
