Use and risk of horse $ 72.00 ' on the roll ' 12-31-64-5-5-65 ' present ' Feb 65 ' deserted '3-15-1865. surrendered 5-15-65 paroled 5-24-65.at Quincy,Fla.

Born about 1828 in Georgia. July 11, 1842, sold land in Sumter County, GA, to Benjamin B. Dykes (on whose land part of Andersonville prison and the Andersonville cemetary is located). Married Nancy Harris July 30, 1852, in Stewart County, GA. Move to Wakulla County, FL, around 1857. Enlisted December 1, 1863, at Camp Simkins, by Capt. Gwynn, for duration of war. Paroled in Tallahassee on May 12, 1865. Died about 1867 in Wakulla County, FL (near Woodville).

Nephew of Dr. Malcolm Nicholson of Gadsden County. Enlisted as 3rd Lt. in Co. B, 6th Florida Infantry at Quincy on 12 March 1862 Resigned and mustered out at Knoxville on 15 Jul 1863. Joined Co. D, Florida 5th Cavalry Battalion, as 2nd Lt. on 24 Aug 1863

Married Elizabeth Duggar in 1858.

Joined the Texas Cavalry in December 1863 and was attached attached/consolidated into the 5th Battalion Florida Cavalry in January 1864. Served until the end of the War in this Unit. Drew a Pension from the State of Texas after War ended.

Alexander (A T as he was known) lost a son earlier in the war, George W Stanford 51st NC. A T joined the 5th Battalion FL Cavalry in early 1865 at the age of 60.
