Jacob Wesley Roller
- Private
Jacob was born 26 Dec 1838 in Benton County Arkansas. The 1860 census has him at age 21 living at Roller Ridge, Benton Co. Ark. He enlisted in Kelly's Company Arkansas Infantry and has one card in that archival file. This became Co H 16th Ark. Infantry - Hill's Regiment. Enlisted 11 Nov. 1861 at Fort Smith Ark for 12 months by Major G.W. Clark. He has 9 cards in the 16th archives.

The 16th was in the fight at Pea Ridge aka Elkhorn Tavern and captured 9 July 1863 at Port Hudson Louisiana. It was paroled and was re-organized as the 1st Consolidated Regiment Ark Infantry - Trans- Mississippi Dept. I did not find a record for him in this regiment. The records are very sparce. The 16th had 1178 men on its rolls.

The 1st Consolidated Ark Infantry included the survivors of: Ark Regiments viz, 14th [Power's], 15th [Northwest], 16th, 17th [ Lemoyne's] and the 21 Ark Infantry. The commander was Col. Jordan E. Cravens.

Jacob died 22 Sept 1882 at Seligman, Benton Co. Ark. and is buried in Roller Ridge Cem. Gateway, Benton County, Ark. He was the father-in- law to my 5th cousin 2 x removed.
