Jonathan Haney, b. 4 June 1845, Coffee Co., Tennessee, was the g-grandfather of my wife Davy Jean (Anderson) Denison.
(NOTE: Jonathan Haney initially joined for duty and enrolled July 26, 1861, for 12 months. He served with 7th Arkansas Infantry Regiment, raised by COL Robert G. Shaver, and was, reportedly wounded during the fighting April 6-7, 1862 at Shiloh. He was discharged 26 July 1862 'by reason of being under 18 years of age.' Later, he enlisted with and served with 'Marmaduke's Cavalry Command' until he was paroled in June 1865.)

James Monroe Riggs

James Monroe Riggs enlisted in Company H, 7th Arkansas Infantry on 26 July 1861 at Camp Shaver as 2nd Lieutenant. He was promoted to 1st Lieutenant on April 16, 1862. His company saw action at Shiloh. He completed his enlistment and was discharged on 16 May 1862. After visiting his family, he returned and enlisted in the 27th Arkansas Infantry, Company I as Captain of the company. He was later promoted to Lieutenant Colonel and transferred to Field and Staff. He survived the war and died in Center, Texas in 1912.
