Enlisted 10 Mar 1862 Clayton, AL. Wounded right leg at Murfreesboro. Wounded left leg at Spring Hill. Captured 20 Dec 1864. XFerd to Nashville Prison Hospital. Right Leg Amputated. Paroled Jul 1865

My great-grandfather, H. S. Hicks (name used on all of his military records), was maimed and captured at Franklin, TN.

Harrison D Lampley formed Capt. Lampley's Co. Alabama Vol's on 10 March 1862 at Clayton, Barbour County Alabama. On 25 March 1863 he is promoted to Lt. Col and to full Colonel on 28 Oct 1863. In 22 July 1864 in Jonesborough Ga. he is wounded while serving with Lowery's Brigade, Cleburne's Division Army of Tennessee. He died of his wounds at the CSA General Hospital at Marietta Georgia. He was my 2nd Cousin 4x removed.

James Henry Buckner is my GG Grandfather. Captured near Atlanta July 22, 1864.

Jasper Newton Buckner is my GG Uncle, older brother to my GG Grandfather James Henry Buckner. Captured at the Battle of Franklin, Tn.

Enrolled December 15, 1862. Was wounded in battle (I think Chickamauga) and was sent home to Butler County, Alabama. His death on October 31, 1863 was due to these wounds. Also had 3 brothers that served, though all in different regiments.

He served in Co. B, 45th Alabama Infantry which eventually merged into Co. B, 1st Alabama. He surrendered April 26, 1865 at Greensboro, NC. His pension application (20293) filed in June of 1909 in Panola Co., TX.

From the Montgomery, Alabama, Advertiser of November 18, 1902: Capt. James Jackson was born on the 4th day of September 1832 and joined the Confederate Army on the 1st day of March 1862 as Capt. of Company E, 45th Alabama, went first to Mississippi, was there at the battle of Shiloh; then to Kentucky and was in all the battles in Tennessee and Georgia; was wounded at Mufreesboro and Atlanta.; wounded again at Franklin Tennessee, the day General Cleburne was, killed in which Division he was. At that time he was acting Major of the Regiment. He had his sword hilt shot off and the ball went through the fleshy part of his thumb and shot out some of the bones in his wrist. He was promoted to Lieutenant Colonel before the war closed. He died in Montgomery, Alabama, April 5th, 1895. James Jackson had five brothers and one brother in law that all served in different Alabama units. His parents were Absalom and Emma Bolling Hall Jackson of Autauga County. In 1835 Absalom built Mayhew, later called The Elms and still standing in beautiful condition, on 16000 acres. James is my great-great grandfather.

George W. YARBOROUGH was b. 10/14/1834 a s/o of George Chapman YARBOROUGH and Virginia Jane 'Jennie' JENKINS. He was from Macon Co., AL and was married in 1855 to Nancy Womack THOMPSON, dtr of Harris and Margaret THOMPSON of Bullock Co., AL. George enlisted at Loachapoka. He died in Sept 26, 1963 in Ringgold, GA and Nancy claimed his body. He had 5 children: Mary Ann, Margaret Virginia, Minnie Rosetta, Charley C.and Samuel Washington. Nancy re-married to William R. SMITH and moved to Monroe Co., AL and had 5 more children and died in 1910. George W. YARBOROUGH's parents died in Baldwin Co., AL.

An entry into the Company’s records made by N. Tucker, Capt., on August 1st. 1862, describe Isham Brooks Cadenhead as follows: I. B. Cadenhead a private in Captain N. Tucker’s Co. F, of the 45th Regt Ala. Vols age 31 years height five feet eight inches Complelexion Light eyes light hair Light and by Profession when enlisted a Farmer Born in Barbour County of Ala and enlisted in the County of Russell State of Ala on the 5th day of April 1862 and to serve for three years on the war Subsistance is finished said Soldier for Two days has rteceived his fifty Dollars wages also Coat & Pants Eleven Dollars.

Information as listed on CSA Pension Applications dated 1889 and 1893 in Lee County Alabama, and 1899, 1912, 1913 in Tallapoosa County, Alabama. Enlisted in Opelika, Alabama on April 5, 1862. Wounded by gunshot to left shoulder on October 8, 1862 in Perryville, Kentucky, and shot in right arm at Franklin, Tennessee, in 1865. He died in 1914 at Reeltown, Alabama. His widow drew CSA Pension benefits through 1920. He was the brother of my maternal great grandfather.

John Wesley Sheally was my great grandfather. He was born on 08 Nov 1834. He died on 26 June 1908 in Eufaula, Alabama and is buried in Fairview Cemetery, Eufaula, Alabama. He married Evaline Goolsby on 8 Nov 1855 in Macon County, Alabama. They had eight children, Willie, Mary, Charles,Frances, Lucinda, John, Tom and Leroy.

He was my Grandfather surrendered with Gen'l Johnston in 1865....referred to his fighting at Murphresboro in Family Bible

Marcus was the son of William C. Montgomery and Sarah Jane Crawford. He was born 1828 in Lowndes Co., Alabama. He was married to Harriet Vickery. He had four children: William, Marion, Sarah, and Marcus. He died 3 Aug 1863 at Academy Hospital, Marietta, Georgia. Marcus was a brother to William E. Montgomery of 3rd AL, Co. H and brother-in-law to Thomas J. Broadway of 3rd AL, Co. H. All three died in the war.

Henry FInch Sanders Pvt. - 2nd Lt. 45th Alabama Infantry, Company 'K'. Henry entered the service as a Private. When war ended he was a 2nd .Lt. and Commander of Company 'K'. Wounded at Pumpkin Creek in Battle of Atlanta. Ref. His statement on file in Al Dept. of Archieves.
