Stillian Crites is my G Grandfather. He was captured at Winchester Va. in June, 1863 and was released through a prisoner exchange July, 1863. He rejoined his regiment in August, 1863 and was discharged at Richmond in August, 1865.

Joseph was my great great grandmother's brother.

I believe he died at battle of Droop Mountain, WV. I found the data one time. I lost website and now can not locate where information came from.

Mustered at Sutton, May 3rd 1862- Died October 13th 1864 at Winchester of yellow fever. He had two brothers in the 47th Ohio vol. Infantry, James M Griffin, and Samuel Young Griffin. Not sure which cos they were in.

Commission as a Captain on 3 February 1862 at the age of 36. Captured on 7 June 1863 and confined at Libby Prison. Transferred to Charleston, SC and then to Savannah, GA. Mustered out on 3 May 1865.

Enlisted as a Private on 6 January 1862 at the age of 18. Wounded at Opequon (Third Battle of Winchester), on 19 September 1864. Discharged on 3 May 1865.

Enlisted as a Private on 25 August 1862 at the age of 16. Mustered out on 7 July 1865.

Enlisted as a Private on 16 February 1862 at the age of 22. Mustered out on 3 May 1865.

Thomas enlisted on September 15, 1863 as a Private in Company G, 15th Regiment West Virginia Infantry and in either May or June of 1865 he transferred as a Private to Company G, 10th Regiment, West Virginia Infantry. He was Honorably Discharged on August 9, 1865. Thomas was my Great Grandfather.

On 05 May 1862, James, at the age of 18, enlisted at Glenville, Gilmer Co., now West Virginia, into the US Army as a private for 3 years of service. He was assigned to Co. G, 10th West Virginia Infantry. On 07 July, 1862, James was killed during a skirmish with the Confederates while defending Maryland Heights for the 3rd time near Harpers Ferry. On 24 Dec., 1866 he was re-interred into what would become the Antietam National Cemetery, Sharpsburg, MD. He is buried in Section 20, Lot A, Grave 30, grave marker 2603.

I would like to find out if this George W. Cunningham was my GGGrandfather who was listed at age 31 in Monongalia County, West Virginia 1860 censes.

Not certain of muster-in date for Justus. Was eventually captured by Confederates; again no evidence of date. It has been documented that he ended up at Camp Sumter prison at Andersonville, GA, where he remained until transferred out on 11 Nov 1864 to Camp Lawton prison at Millen, GA. Nov 11 is significant as the date the last prisoners at Andersonville were shipped out in advance of General Sherman's march through the area. The record of J. C. Heck after that date has not yet been found, but he was alleged to have died in a southern prison.

Asbury W Zickefoose was born in Pendleton County, Virginia/WV. Enlisted as a private on February 1, 1862, in Harrisville, Ritchie County, West Virginia. He was wounded in action on September 19, 1864, near Winchester, Virginia. Promoted from Corporal to 1st Sergeant September 25, 1864. , and was discharged in May 1865. Served 3 years and 3 months
