Born July 30th 1847 in York District(county) Was a 4th Class-man Lived in Clark County Arkansas in 1875, later moved to Dallas County, Alabama, he died on May 4th 1919 and is buried in Bethel Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Oak Hill, Wilcox, Alabama. Solomon was born in 1847 in Green Sea Twp, Conway, Horry County, SC. IN 1860 he is 14 years old in Kingston, Horry County, SC, the Post Office is at Conway. He enlists 10 July 1863 at Charleston, enlisted by Lt. Patrick. He has 2 cards in the State Cadets archival file. He had not yet joined when this unit fired on the Yankee ship "Star of the West" There were 107 men on this roster. He was engaged in the Battle of James Island, Tulifinny, in Jasper County SC on 6th-9th Dec 1864, where 900 Confederates defeated 5000 Yankees. Williamston SC, and was absorbed into the Confederate Army as they evacuated Charlston to continue the fight in the Carolinas. He died in 1847 in Conway, Horry County, South Carolina. We are related [ no blood ] thru a complex series of marriages thru my Byrd Line.

GG Grandfather David "Henry" Beheler and his cousins William and Andrew Beheler served with the SC 17th Regiment Company F.

John was born in 1828 in Sumter Co. SC. He was 33 years old when he enlisted in Co H 26th SC Inf. on 14 Feb 1863 at Mcellanville, SC. His Regimental history shows he was engaged at: Jackson Siege, Bermuda Hundred, Petersburg Siege where he was wounded. The Crater. Fort Stedman and Five Forks before his unit surrendered at Appamattox on 21 Apr 1865. His wounds affected him the rest of his life. He died 20 Dec 1893 at Tuberville, Clarendon Co. SC. He has a proper CSA stone.

Took command of SCMA Battalion after Colonel Peter F. Stevens was given command of the Holcombe Legion Infantry Battalion. Led the battalion for most of the war, including Battle of Tulifinny. Disbanded the battalion before end of war.
