Looking for information on Ahi C. Robbins, 52nd Regiment, NC Infantry.

Enlisted March 21, 1862 in Cabarrus County at age 25. Captured at Bristoe Station, Virginia, October 14, 1863.Confined a Point Lookout,Maryland, October 27,1863.Received at Boulware's Wharf, James River, Virginia, on or about February 20, 1865, for exchange.

Pvt. James O. Corzine, died 28 May 1862 at 28 yrs, 11 mo,8 days. Enlisted Co A 'Cabarrus Riflemen', 52nd NC on 21 March 1862. He died in service of Confederacy at Camp Mangum, Raleigh, NC. He is double first cousin to Capt. David Morrison Corzine, killed First Battle Deep Bottom 'Petersburg Campaign' near Gravel Hill, VA and Pvt. James C. Corzine. Both David M. and James C. were in Co C, 'Cabarrus Hornets',33rd NC. James O. is buried in the Corzine section of the Cold Water Baptist Church Cemetery in Concord, NC. James O. is also a cousin to Mary Anna Morrison Jackson wife of Gen. Stonewall Jackson, Isabella S. Morrison wife of Gen D.H. Hill, and Eugenia Erixene Morrison wife of Gen. Rufus Clay Barringer.

William and his three brothers, from Stanly County, N.C., all served in Confederate Army. William was the only one to survive the war. William and his brother, Thomas Dry of 5th N.C. Infantry, were both at Gettysburg. William took part in Pickett's charge and was captured during retreat from Pennsylvania. Spent 18 months in Union POW camp, after release spent several weeks recovering in Richmond military hospital. Rejoined unit in early 1865, surrendered and was paroled at Appomattox. Thomas was killed at Petersburg and is buried in one of mass graves there. William's other two brothers died of disease. Photo of William and info about his service are on file at Gettysburg National Military Park. Info was obtained from North Carolina State Archives in Raleigh and verified by Gettysburg NMP personnel.

Henry was my great grandfather, my dad's mother's father. He survived The Battle of Gettysburg due to being in the hospital in Richmond, Virginia. Co A was involved with Pickett's Charge where many were killed and wounded. He later joined his unit near PetersburgVa. and was captured by Union forces in October during the battle of Briscoe Staion, southwest of Manassas, Va. He was in a prisoner of war camp at Lookout Point, Md. Until his release as the last group of North/South prisoner swap. More info to follow.

Enlisted at age 41 in Cabarrus County. Appointed Captain on April 28, 1862. Resigned on August 12, 1862. Resignation accepted on November 25, 1862.

Milton was born 1 Jan 1828 in Union Co. NC. He enlisted 8 March 1862 in Richmond Co. NC and mustered at Camp Mangum near Raleigh, NC. He has 81 cards in his archival file. Was assigned to Pettigrew's Brigade, Heath's Division, Army of Northern Virginia. Battles: Gettysburg where he was wounded [ shot in right foot on 3 July] sent to hospital in Richmond and was given furlough. Falling Waters, Bristo Station, Mile Run, Wilderness, Spotsylvania C.H., Cold Harbor, Globe Tavern, Ream's Station, Burgess Mill and Hatchers Run where he lost his right arm while charging the enemy. Inspection Report dated 30 Nov 1864. Heath's Corps, McCrea's Brigade, Hill's Corps states [ Lost right arm at Hatcher's Run and will retire. He was the husband of my [Annie Louise Burch ] 4th cousin 3 x removed. He entered as a 1st Lieut. and was promoted to Captain. He is buried at Chisholm Chapel, McLendon - Chisholm, Rockwall County, Texas.

Thomas was 25 years old when he enlisted in Richmond Co. NC on 2 May 1862, Elected as 3 Corporal. Wounded at Gettysburg 1 July 1863. He has 15 CMR's in his archival file. He died 5 Aug 1864 in fighting along the Appomattox River Va. He was the husband of my 4th cousin 4 x removed and grand son of Mary Thomas 1787 - 1858.

John enlisted at age 16, however he lied and was closer to 15 years old. Enlisted 10 Mar 1862 in Richmond Co. NC after training at camp of instruction Camp Mangum near Raleigh he was mustered 28 April 1862. Inducted by J. P. Leak for 3 years or the war. His unit was engaged at Goldsboro, NC. them moved into Virginia. He was wounded and left on the battlefield at Gettysburg on the 3rd of July having been in Pickett's Charge. He was able to move south with Lee's retreating army and was captured shortly after on 14 July 1863 at Falling Waters. He was held as wounded POW at the Old Capitol Prison in Washington DC and moved to Point Lookout Md. He died their in the prison smallpox hospital on 28 Nov 1863 and is buried in an unmarked grave in that hellhole. He was about 16 years old.

Joseph was born 25 Dec 1845 in Marlboro District SC. which is adjacent to the NC Line. He was enlisted by John P. Little a JP on 8 March 1862 for 3 years or the war. Mustered at Camp Mangum near Raleigh, which was a Camp of Instruction. 23 June to 17 July 1863 he is in the Chimborazo Hospital #3 at Richmond treated for Pneumonia. 14 Oct 1863 he is wounded at the battle of Bristo Station. On 15 Oct 1864 he is promoted to 4th Corporal. 27 Oct 1864 he is taken prisoner near Petersburg and exchanged 17 Jan 1865. Assigned under generals, Pettigrew, Kirkland, & McRae. Saw action at Goldsboro, and Washington NC, Gettysburg Campaign, Falling Waters and Bristo Station where he was wounded. He died 18 Sept 1930 and is buried in the Saron Cem at Durant, Holmes County, Miss. He was the husband of my 1st cousin 4 x removed.

Thomas was 18 when he enlisted in Richmond County NC on 16 Feb 1863. Enlisted by Sergt. Ewing for three years. He died of Rubeolia in the hospital at Richmond at age 20. He is buried at Hollywood Cemetery in that fair city in Section V plot 665. A receipt for his personal effects was for $27.00.

Thomas was 21 years old when enlisted on 8 April 1862. He was from Richmond County NC. He knew many in this unit as many were immediate and extended family members. He was wounded at Richmond on June 30 1864 and was admitted to Hospital # 9 at Wayside Hospital. He was sent home on wounded furlough.

Benjamin enlisted 4 April 1862 at Camp Mangum. He is a 33 year old farmer from Richmond Co. NC. His parents are James Thomas and Charlotte Roper. He mustered in on 28 April 1862 . On 30 June he is assigned as a wagoner for his unit. His pay as a teamster is $7.50 cents per month. He is wounded at Gettysburg on 3 July 1863. Sent to hospital with laceration to his back. He is sent home on furlough from the hospital at Richmond to recover. he is then assigned duty as a guard at Charlotte NC. Benjamin goes awol on 27 July 1864 and returns voluntarily in Sept. 1864 under an amnesty order of President Davis. On 25 March 1865 he is captured near Petersburg, Va. and is released 14 May 1865.

James Joined on 8 March 1862 and died of pneumonia on 12 January 1863 at the Wilson Hospital. His unit was helping to defend the last rail link to Lee's forces at Richmond. He is buried in the ' Mound' in Maplewood Cemetery

Robert Joined 3 May. 1863. He was from Richmond Co. NC. He was with the 3rd Army Corp. Lt. Gen. A.P. Hill, Heath's Division at Gettysburg. He died on the 3 of July 1863 as his body was left on the field as dead. I have placed a memory stone for him at Richmond's Gettysburg Memorial site.

(90 days only, but He was prior service. 3 different units during the war.) WONDERING IF THEY WERE SHOOTING AT EACH OTHER.

William was born in 1844 he was 16 y/o in 1860. He enlisted at age 18 in Co E 52nd NC Infantry [ Richmond Regulators] in Richmond Co. NC on 10 April 1862. Enlisted by J. P Leak for the war. Mustered at Camp Mangum near Raleigh, NC. He is 5 foot 1/4 inches tall. He is assigned as Teamster and served in this work for most of the war. April he is at home on furlough of indulgence. In April 1864 he signs the Company roll as Sergeant as CO of company. Assigned to Brigades of General's Pettigrew, Kirkland & MacRae. Battles: Goldsboro, NC and moved to Va. Gettysburg, Bristoe Station are named in his records. He is the Father in Law of my 4th Cousin 3 x removed. He died 20 Mar 1909 in Richmond Co. NC and is buried at Shady Grove Methodist Cem. Cairo. Anson Co. NC

Pvt David Bullis, age 22, was wounded in his right arm on July 1, 1863 at Gettysburg. The arm was amputated at a battlefield hospital, but he died from infection at David's Island prison camp in New York City on August 3, 1863. Pvt. Bullis is buried at Cypress Hills National Cemetery, grave #742. He was my great great uncle.

He was born 1827 in Wilkes County, NC. He enlisted on March 14, 1862 in Wilkes County, NC and mustered into Company F, NC 52nd Infantry on April 28, 1862. He was confined at Old Capitol Prison, Washington, DC and also POW October 14, 1863 at Bristoe Station, Virginia. Transferred October 27, 1863 to Point Lookout, MD. Joined USA February 22, 1864 and Oath of Allegiance February 22, 1864 at Point Lookout, MD.

James Wesley was born in Yancey Co. and resided in Wilkes County, N.C. He enlisted at the age of 17, March 14, 1862. Wounded at Goldsboro on Dec. 17, 1862. Returned to duty prior to Sept. 1,1863. Wounded near Petersburg, Va. June 19, 1864. Returned to duty in July-Aug. 1864. Captured at Amelia Court House, Va. April 4, 1865. Confined to Point Lookout, Md. as a POW. on April 13, 1865. Released on June 11, 1865, after taking the oath of allegiance. Returned to confed. and served on ambulance collecting wounded and dead.

Looking for a photo of him(my grandparents had one when I was growing up framed on the wall in uniform) - he was my great great grandfather from Wilkes County NC - went by Toliver.

John Sanford Hix is my Great Great Grandfather and was captured at Falling Waters following the Battle of Gettysburg. He was made a POW at Point Lookout where he died on January 13, 1864. He is buried in a mass grave there.

Elbert Parlier was born in 1837 in Wilkes County, NC, son of Jonathan Parlier & Rebecca Shinn. Enlisted in Co.F 52 North Carolina Infantry as a Private on 14 March 1862 at the age of 23.Died of disease on 1 Aug 1862 at Petersburg, VA. Elbert was the brother of my 4th great grandfather James Wesley Parlier of Wilkes County, NC.

In 1921 My grandmother applied for a pension for her first husband Joseph Rash and it was granted. She stated that they were married in 1859 and he enlisted in the 52nd infantry company F on or about April 9th 1861. but something unknown by me happened, because they didn`t let him serve the whole war in the 52nd and his name don`t appear on any roster that I have found. She also stated that he served for almost 4 years in the home militia of Wilkes county North Carolina, but she didn`t state what regiment. I can only suppose that it was the 93rd or 94th militia. Need some help on this, in the meantime i`ll keep searching the archives..Richard Rash gg grandson of Joseph Rash.

william was my great-great uncle and enlisted in the 52nd 03/06/1862. he fought in the 1st and 3rd days at gettysburg. his regiment, under pettigrew/trimble assisted in picket's charge. he and his nephew, henry waggoner of the 47th n.c. both survived the war. he was paroled after the surrender at appomattox.

Robert & James were brothers, enlisted in Wilkes Co. James mustered out at Appomatox but can't find a disposition on Robert, last paid record 08/64

JT was the brother of Thomas and brother of Archibald.He was promoted to Corporal after he was wounded and healed at Gettysburg. He was again wounded and captured at Delaware where he was exchanged he is one of the seven Dry pond Dixie s to survive to surrender at Appomattox.

On October 2nd 1862 he enlisted in the C.S.A army. He is related to me but I don't know how I will find out though. He was born in 1842 in Gaston country NC. He had 7 siblings and his birthdate is unknown. He was briefly in the Chimborazo hospital in Richmond, VA from Jun 24-Jul 24, 1863. On Oct 14, 1863, he was shown as "missing in action"] His muster rolls continued to show him "missing" until the May/June 1864 when he was shows as "a prisoner". It was ultimately found out he had been captured at Bristow Station, VA on Oct 14, 1863, and was taken to Point Lookout, MD where he died on Aug 13, 1864 at ages 21/22 it is unknown since we do not know his birthday but you can go visit his grave in the Confederate memorial plot at Point LookOut MD. I've always wanted to see it but I've never been able to go since I live down south.

Great Grandfather

Born in Lincoln, N.C. in 1831. He enlisted at the age of 31. Was involved in many battles throughout Virginia. He was furloughed from January to April 1864 to recover from a gunshot wound. Upon return, he was promoted from Sergeant to Lieutenant shortly after return for gallantry and good conduct.

1827-1917 Enlisted on 6 July 1862 in Lincoln County. Captured during the siege of Petersburg on 2 April 1865. Released from Point Lookout prison on 28 June 1865. Buried in Catawba County.

he died at Orange County Courthouse, Va on Jan. 13, 1864 cause of death unknown. I would like to find the cause of his death. He was my 3rd great grandfather.

Daniel was born July 3, 1841 to John M Rogers and Anna McMackin in Stanly County, NC. On Dec. 12, 1861 he married Margaret E Frick, sister of Rachel Frick who was married to his brother, James Henderson Rogers. At the time of his enlistment in March 1862 his son, Daniel A Rogers, was only six months old. Daniel had five brothers, only David W Rogers survived the war. Military records show that he was 'Mustered out' July 19, 1862 at Drewery's Bluff, VA while another said he died on that date at Camp Campbell, NC. His body is believed to be in the Rogers family cemetery on Ryan Rd. in Stanly County, NC where he has a headstone also inscribed with the name of his wife although she later married Tilman Hatley in 1865.

Padgett, Marvil Sephus, Private Co K, 52nd North Carolina Infantry Resided in Rowan County and enlisted at Camp French, near Petersburg, Virginia, at age 25 on October 8, 1862 for the war. Captured at Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, July 3, 1863. Confined at Fort Delaware, Delaware, on or about July 10, 1863. Released at Fort Delaware on June 19, 1865 after taking the Oath of Allegiance. Born: January 1, 1837 in Rutherford Co., NC Died: November 29, 1922 Buried: Concord Baptist, Bostic, NC Married: Sara Elizabeth Michael Children: 14 Occupation: unknown

Jacob Pegram fought alongside his brother Joseph during Pickett's charge. Jacob returned home and continued farming in Rockingham County, NC. My GG Uncles.

Joseph was wounded during Picketts Charge, captured, sent to David's Island Prison, and died on August 3, 1863. He also had a brother named Jacob Yancey Pegram who fought alongside him at Gettysburg. He survived the war.
