born June 2, 1840, Halcott, Greene County, NY; father Elijah; mother Hannah Gordon; took part in the Battles of Gettysburg and Fredricksburg. Wounded and taken prisoner at Robinsons Creek, Oct 10, 1863. Died March 21, 1864 of Bronchitis and buried in Grave #83, Andersonville Prison, GA.

Enlisted as a Private on 11 August 1862 at the age of 23. Enlisted in Company B, 120th Infantry Regiment New York on 22 Aug 1862. Mustered Out Company B, 120th Infantry Regiment New York on 3 Jun 1865 at Washington, DC.

This is my great great grandfather. Surname spelled 'Van Kleek' in some documents - many other variant spellings. David enlisted in the Union Army in 1862. He was enrolled August 10, 1862 in Company B of the 120th Regiment of the New York Volunteers and was discharged June 2, 1865. His description was given as follows: 'Age 23 years; height 5 feet 6 inches; complexion, Dark; hair, Black; eyes, brown'. He was wounded at the Battle of the Wilderness - '... struck on the left side of the sturnam (sic.) by a gun in the hands of a soldier from which injury he has never recovered. Also that at Fairfax Courthouse in 1862 he was taken sick with Typhoid Fever which has also helped to contribute to his physical disability.' '... he was treated in hospitals as follows: 1st in Reg. Hos. for Fever at Fairfax Courthouse from there sent to St. Allucious Hos. at Washington. Then to the Episcopal Hos. Philadelphia & remained nearly a year in 1862 & 1863. Thence to Chestnut (hard to read that word - may be 'Chester' instead) Hill Philadelphia. Thence to Fort Schuylar. After being injured in the Wilderness 1st Reg. Hos. thence to Rhode Island, Portsmouth Grove & remained about a year in 1864 & 65.'

Killed at Peach Orchard. July 2

Thomas H. Davenport was my ggrandfather. He fought with Company E of the 120th New York Infantry. Evidently he survived well the many battles that the company went through and lived to get married, have five children, and live til age 78. Would love to know more about his life in the 120th.

William was killed July 2, 1863 at Gettysburg, Pa. (more details available). He was buried in the National Cemetery in Gettysburg, New York section, Row G (innermost row), grave 56 (center).

2nd day of Gettysburg was wounded in the ankle at the peach orchard.

Epenetus B. Abrams enlisted as a private in the Union Army during the Civil War. He enlisted at Greenville and was attached to the 120 Inf. K on August 5, 1862. He mustered on August 23, 1862 and served 3 years. Epenetus received $25.00 as enlistment pay, his family received $15.00 for his enlistment into the Union Army. During a battle on May 3, 1863 at Chancellersville, Va., he was wounded. He later died of his wound on May26, 1863, at Falmonth Va..

William J. Abrams of Greenville enlisted into the Union Army on August 5,1862 in the town of Greenville NY. He later mustered with his unit the 120 Inf. K on August 22,1862. William received a enlistment fee of $25.00, his family received $15.00. While confronting the Confederate Army on July 2, 1863, at the Battle of Gettsyburg he was shot in the head. He rests in an unmarked grave. William was a farmer before enlisting in the Union Army.
