Born in New York in 1826. Enlisted 26 June 1861. Discharged 22 May 1862 due to wounds received at Mill Springs, Kentucky. Died and buried in Jackson County, Minnesota in 1886

Enlisted as a Private on 26 June 1861 at the age of 19. Wounded at Chickamauga, GA. Discharged on 25 June 1864.

Daniel was the half-brother of Charles Adelbert Edwards, 2nd MN Co. A

George was the brother of my great-great grandfather, Charles Adelbert Edwards, also of Company A of the 2nd MN.

Enlisted as a Private on 26 June 1861 at the age of 18 Enlisted in Company A, 2nd Infantry Regiment Minnesota on 26 June 1861. Reenlisted in Company A, 2nd Infantry Regiment Minnesota on 15 December 1863 Mustered out Company A, 2nd Infantry Regiment Minnesota on 11 July 1865 in Louisville, KY

David was the husband of Phoebe Jane Edwards, sister of my great-great grandfather Charles Adelbert Edwards, also of Company A of the 2nd MN.

Andrew died of wounds received in the battle of Mill Springs, Kentucky on Jan. 19-20,1862. He enlisted in June of 1861 to fight in the Indian War in southern Minnesota. He had come to the USA in 1859 with other family members. He is my 3rd Great Grand Uncle.

Enlisted St. Paul 17 June 1861, discharged for promotion 3 Apr 1862. Died 22 May 1885. From his obituary 23 May 1885 in New York Times: 'Col. Hunter Brooke, of Ohio, a clerk in the Adjutant-General's office in Washington, died yesterday of pneumonia after a brief illness. Col. Brooke served as a staff officer during the war with Gen. Robert L. McCook, Rosecrans and George H. Thomas. He entered the service as a private in the Second Minnesota Infantry and at the close of the war was Judge-Advocate-General of the Department of the South.'

Born in Sweden, came to the US in 1854. Drafted on the 21st of April 1864 at the age of 39 and mustered out on the 11th of July 1865 at Louisville, KY. Was in receipt of a pension due to invalidity from 1898 until his death in 1912.

John Thompson, born in Norway in 1845, was living in Martell, Wisconsin when he mustered in 24 February 1864 at age 18. He mustered out with the rest of the 2d Minn on 11 July 1865. He died in Seeley, Wisconsin. He is my great-great-grandfather.

Started the war as a Pvt. and advanced to 1 Sgt. While a 1 Sgt. he was in command of an action the won him and his men the medal of honor. Latter he was made 1 Lt and still latter Capt.

Mons was one of the six sons of Truls Hermundson Mael to serve in the Civil War. Two half brothers in Wisconsin [Elling and Hermund] and three brothers, Lewis in WI and Christian and John in MN.

Place and date: At Chickamauga, Ga., 19 September 1863; At Missionary Ridge, Tenn., 25 November 1863. Entered service at: Glencoe, Minn. Birth: Maine. Date of issue: 2 April 1898. Citation: While in arrest at Chickamauga, Ga., left his place in the rear and voluntarily went to the line of battle, secured a rifle, and fought gallantly during the 2_day battle; was released from arrest in recognition of his bravery. At Missionary Ridge commanded his company and gallantly led it, being among the first to enter the enemy's works; was severely wounded, losing an arm, but declined a discharge and remained in active service to the end of the war.
