George Malcolm Emack was born July 29, 1842 at his home, Locust Grove, MD. He was the son of the late Elbert Grandison and Margaret(Turner) Emack. (Elder Mr. Emack was the former owner of the successful mercantile, Hodges & Emack located on Capital Hill in Washington DC,he then purchase the family estate of Locust Grove located in Prince George County,MD where he became a prominent farmer in that area. He was also a delegate to the Consititutional Convention of 1867). Brother to Lt. James William Emack,.Elbert Grandison II. Eudora Virgina, John Duke, Dr.Alexander Franklin Dulin, Charles Calder, Charles Grandison, Edward Grandeville. Grandson to the Hon. James Turner and Sarah (Calder) Turner of Hartford County, MD. Also grandson to William and Ann Jackson (Duke) Emack of Georgetown.
Retired at the close of the war with the rank of Major.(See The Fight of Monterey Pass) He move to Versailles, KY after several years in New Orleans and Indiana. He died on his estate in Versailles KY on May 11, 1886. Married to Mary Belle(Wooldridge) Emack. AKA 'Mollie'
