John T. Dunford - Private   
John T. Dunford enlisted into B Company of the Richmond City Battalion of Infantry in Oct. 1862, and served until paroled on April 9, 1865 Appomattox Virginia. in April 1865. This information comes from the military records as recorded on the Fold3 site.

What I cannot state at this time is 100% proof that he is my 2nd. Great Uncle, the brother of my Great Grandfather, Pvt. James Spencer Dunford Co. D, 18th. Virginia Infantry, and John Fuqua Dunford, Co. D, 21st. Virginia Infantry, who are likely his two brothers.

William Marion Snoddy - Private   
William was 18 years old when he enlisted in Co C 25th Battalion Va. Infantry. [ Richmond Battalion Virginia Infantry. City Battalion Va. Infantry. William served honorably. He was captured at Farmville, Va. on 6 April 1865 and taken to City Point and Lookout Point. He is on a roll of sick POW's that were released on 2 June 1865 after swallowing the yellow dog. He is the husband of my cousin Laura Manervia Pankey of Richmond Co. Va.

Austin Ammonett Atkinson - Corporal   
This man was born in 1839 in Chesterfield County Virginia, and joined up with Company F, 25th. Battalion, Richmond City Battalion of Virginia Infantry, Confederate States Army. This unit was formed specifically for the defense of the Confederate Capitol, Richmond, Virginia.
I am not sure which year he enlisted, but he would have been between 23 and 25 years of age. He died in 1898 and is buried at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery in Chesterfield, County Virginia.

William Walker Ranson, my Great, Great Uncle, was born Aug. 5, 1842 in Cumberland County, Virginia and joined the Richmond City Battalion, Co. H, 25th Battalion, Confederate States Army. He died Oct. 29, 1924 in Cumberland, Virginia.
