Samuel Bryce Flowers
FLOWERS, Samuel Bryce, physician, born in Wayne County, N. C., 31 October 1835. He was educated at Wake Forest College, N. C., and was graduated in medicine at the University of Pennsylvania in 1859. In that year he settled in Camden, Ark., but returned to North Carolina in 1862, and served as surgeon in the Confederate army during the civil war. He is a member of the board of health of Wayne County, of the Wayne County medical society, of the North Carolina medical society, of which he was elected vice president in 1875, and of the Eastern medical association, of which he was vice president in 1877. He has contributed to the ' Philadelphia Medical and Surgical Reports,' and to the 'Virginia Medical Monthly.'
