Adrian Theodore Woodward - Doctor
There were two Adrian Theodore Woodward''s who served in Vermont Regt''s. This one, my great, great uncle served from Feb 63 to Jul 63 as a Surgeon. He was from Brandon, VT. He had a nephew by the same name, my great grandfather, who served as a Pvt in Company I, 17th Vermont from Mar 1864 to Jun 1865. The latter was from Rutland and was department head of the GAR in VT in 1919. He died in 1927. One of his sons, my grandfather, John E. Woodward, graduated from West Point in 1892 and retired from the Army in 1934 as a Brigadier General. Ther was a third Adrian Theodore Woodward who was the youngest son of the second Adrian and who was born in 1895 when his dad was 48!
