Daniel was 20 when he joined. His older brother had sent letters back home that made the war sound like boy scout camp. I have some of the letters.

Charles Grothey
- Private
Charles Grothey was my great-great grandfather on my mother's side of the family. He was born in Germany and emigrated to the US in 1850, entering throught to port of Baltimore. He settled in Seven Valleys, PA, where he built several stone farms houses which still stand today. His son, Aaron, my great-grandfather, lived until 1972. As a young boy, I spent many weekends on his farm -- which was built by Charles Grothey in 1899. When Grandpa Grothey died in 1972, his wife (my great-grandmother, Elsie) sold the farm. While sorting through boxes of possessions, she came across the US belt buckle worn by Charles Grothey during the Civil War. She gave it to me, dismissing it as 'more junk to be dealt with.' Needless to say, it is one of my prized possessions today, and will one day be passed on to one of my sons !!

I am looking for any photographs of the 200th PA Infantry, Company H. Can't seem to find any ! help !
Thanks,
Wayne Ruppert, Jr.
