Howard Abel - Corporal   
Last name also spelled Able. My 1st cousin 3 times removed. Born 1844 in Wrightsville, York County, PA. Enlisted as a Private on Feb. 14, 1865. Shot in both knees at Petersburg, VA. He mustered out with the rank of Corporal on Jan. 31, 1866. He claimed he was paralyzed from his war injuries in the 1890 Union Veteran's Census Schedules. He died in Wrightsville, PA in 1928. His brother Stephen Armstrong Abel served with the same unit.

Last name also spelled Able. My 1st cousin 3 times removed. Born 1846 in Wrightsville, York County, PA., he enlisted as a Private with his brother Howard Abel on Feb. 14, 1865. He mustered out on Jan. 31, 1866 at Washington, D.C. He died in 1891 in Wrightsville, Pennsylvania.

He was born 1845 in Huntingdon, Pa and died 1904 in Altoona, Pa - interred at Fairview Cemetery in Altoona, Pa.
