John's last name in some of his records, such as Bates, is spelled Cunkel. He was born 22 Oct., 1841, Cumberland Co., PA,to John & Mary (Spahr)Kunkel, died & was buried Sept., 1895, Wetaug, Pulaski Co., IL. He was mustered in Aug. 17, 1863 at Carlisle, PA & mustered out with his company June 24, 1865 at Elmira, NY. Married twice and father of 11 children.

Emanuel Reisinger - Private   
Emanuel was born 1840 in York County, PA. He was drafted to Co. D, 149th PA Infantry on Aug. 17, 1863. He mustered out at Elmira New York on June 24, 1865. After the war, he moved his family to York, Nebraska where he died on Oct. 29, 1921.
His brother, George also served with the 166th PA Infantry
