117th Ohio Infantry

John Carlos Hutsinpiller was in the 117th Ohio Infantry Enlisted Aug. 12th 1862. This regiment became the first Ohio Heavy Artillery. He Mustered out July 25 1865. John Carlos Hutsinpiller, Died June 20th 1927 at the age of 86 Gallipolis, Gallia, Ohio.

Enlisted as a Private on 18 July 1863 at the age of 28. Transferred into Company H, 1st Heavy Artillery Regiment Ohio on 12 August 1863.
